Willie James Prater was born on March 22, 1940 to the late Mr. Forney L. Prater and Mrs. Mary M. Cain- Prater. At an early age, he confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He received his formal education in the Gadsden City School system where he graduated from Carver High School class of 1958.After high School, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served honorably for many years.
Willie loved bowling, playing darts, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three Brother and five sisters.
Willie leaves to cherish his precious memories, his children Sonya Staten, DeWayne(Shirley)Prater and Monica(Carl)Brown; Special step-daughter and caregiver Robbie Cole. He leaves a host of grandchildren , great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and many dear friends. Special friends, “ Red Berry”, Byron Crook, Mr. Jimmie, Mr. Lindsay and Mr. L.C. Riddle.
