Peggy A. (Franklin) Gilliland

Peggy Gilliland, 85, of Gadsden, AL. passed away on June 10, 2026. She was born on November 25, 1940. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Marvin Franklin and mother, Jewel Hardin Franklin-Weathington, Stepfather, H.D. Weathington Sr., Father and mother-in-law, Howard and Dessie Gilliland, Grandmother, Grace Hardin; Brother, Ronnie Franklin, Sons, Larry Gilliland and Eddie Gilliland; Brother-in-law, Harold Green.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Vickie Gilliland (Wife of deceased son, Eddie).; Grandson, Jonathon (Amanda) Gilliland; Great grandchildren, Ellie, Riley and Maggie Gilliland; Sister, Gracie Green; Sister-in-law, Linda Franklin and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Special cousin, Diane Casey and special friend and hairdresser, Sara Mathis.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She babysat all her nieces and great-nieces when they were little. She loved a good laugh. She looked forward to going to the beauty shop every week. She could make the best fried chicken and banana pudding you ever put in your mouth. She loved Elvis and was a big fan.

The family has honored her request for no services. Cremation was provided by Prestige Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory with Interment taking places at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
