Pearlie Hamilton Obituary

Pearlie Mae Hamilton was born on April 5, 1940, in Attalla, Alabama, to the union of Lucile Costephens Hamilton and Jenkins Hamilton. She accepted Christ at an early age, under the leadership of the Reverend J.J. McGhee at the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Attalla, AL. Pearlie, received her formal education at Norris High School. Later, she relocated to St. Louis to live. After returning she worked for many years at Hampton Inn as a Housekeeper.

Pearlie had many hobbies. She enjoyed helping others whenever she could. Fishing was her pride and joy. She loved going with her brothers and friends. She was well-known for her macaroni and cheese and cucumber salad.Drinking coffee was one of her favorite things to do and being the “Neighborhood Watch” on Shorter Avenue. She didn’t mind expressing how she felt, just make her mad and you would soon find out.

Pearlie departed her earthly home on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Preceding her in death were her parents, Jenkins Hamilton and Alicia “Lucille” Hamilton; daughter, Lisa Hamilton; brothers, Tommy Tyson and Acie Hamilton; and special brother-in-law, Walter L. Adams.

Her wonderful memories will be cherished by a loving and devoted sister, Deborah Adams; brothers, JC Reynolds and Michael Costephens; sisters-in-law, Rose Costephens, Jackie Hamilton, and Mary Reynolds; devoted cousins, the Labiche family; a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she cherished; chosen daughters, Opal Brown, Aurnita Harris, and Mildred Shunate; chosen son, Georgia Creswell; special caregivers, Sister Eva Thompson, Sister Mattie McGhee, Sister Arlene Wyatt, Sister Shannon Wyatt, Sister Bonnie Winfrey, and Brother Anthony Keith; and many other dear friends and family.
