Norman Jefferson Larry Cole was born on September 16, 1953 to the late Mr. Harold Cole and Mrs. Elnora Collier-Cole in Attalla, Al. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at Attalla #1 AOH Church of God under the care of his Grandmother, Mrs. Idella Phillips who raised him in holiness and taught him to fear no one, but God.
Norman received his formal education in the Attalla Public School System. Shortly after completing High School, He enlisted in the United States Army where he served his county for four years and received an Honorable Discharge.
Upon returning home, he gained employment at Goldkist Poultry plant in Boaz, Alabama. It was there, that he met the woman who would become his wife, Sharion Watson-Cole. Together they were members of Gadsden #1 AOH Church of God under the leadership of Bishop W.C. Sanders. Later, they Joined the Abundant Life Church under the leadership of Bishop Terry A. Jones, where he attended until his Illness.
Norman is Preceded in death by his daughter, Keisha Monique Cole; Parents, Mr. Harold and Elnora Cole; grandmother, Ms. Idella Phillips; Siblings, Della Cole, James Cole, Kevin “Tiny” Cole. A very special nephew, Markise “Man Man” Phillips. Anything that Norman needed, he was there. He made sure the yard was always looking good, he also took him to run errands, whatever was needed, he was there. His untimely passing shook Norman, as Markise was like a son.
His legacy of love will forever be Cherish by his faithful and loving wife, Sharion Watson Cole; Son, Takeimah Cole; Step-daughters, Tamala(Ray) Watson-Davis and Candice Watson; Grandkids, DeCorian Watson and Shamar Stephens; Mother-in-law, Dorothy Watson; Siblings, Connie Underwood, Sylvia (Alphonso Griffin) Cole, Sybia Cole, Cornelia Phillips all of Gadsden, Al. Carolyn Slack of Compton, CA., Margaret Phillips of Chattanooga, TN.; Brothers, Norman Phillips, Reginald Cole, Kim Cole of Attall,AL.; Sisters-in-law, Teresa Mostiller and Jacquelin Watson of Gadsden, AL.; Brothers-in-law, Nehemiah Jackson of Charlotte, NC., LaVon Jackson of Gadsden, AL., Johnny (Wendy) Watson of Albertville, Al; special nephews, Jamar (Crystal) Mostiller and Jatavius Mostiller, who also helped in any way. Norman was blessed with many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that are too numerous to name.
