Obituary
Mattie Lou or “Matt Lou’’ Brewster was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend during her incredible 80 years of life. On December 11, 2023, Mattie Brewster got her wings and
went to walk with the angels. Matt Lou was born June 19, 1943, in Marengo County, Alabama to the late Joseph Bud Shields and the late Mattie Lee Harris. Matt Lou gave her life to Christ at an early age.
Even though she had several kids and grandkids, she always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. Whether it was a hot cooked meal, a word of advice,
encouragement, or just a shoulder to lean on, she was there. She worked tirelessly to provide for her kids and grandkids. She would proudly boast about all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Matt Lou rejoins her parents, her husband, Alex Brewster, and special companion, Eugene Johnson, and her two sons, Anthony and Gregory Brewster.
