Jocelyn Douglas Obituary

Jocelyn Bryanna Douglas was born the child of Mr. Bryant(Barbara) Douglas and Mrs. Sabrina (Otis) Jennings, Jr., on November 2, 1993. She received Christ under the leadership of Pastor Willie Simmons at New Liberty Tabernacle of Praise.

Jocelyn received her formal education in the Gadsden City school system. She was a 2013 graduate of Penn Foster High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a hard worker, working several jobs in the medical field. Her last job was at Gadsden Regional Medical Center as a nursing assistant.

Jocelyn was a joy to be around, like her name. She was a jokester, full of life. Her personality flowed through her hairstyles and her clothing. Jocelyn was very loving, respectful, humble, soft-spoken, and high-spirited in Christ. She was loved by all. Jocelyn was very stylish; her hairstyles and clothing defined her character.

She was honored to be the proud aunt of her niece, De’Aire Meadows, and her nephew, Malachi Jennings. She departed this life for eternity on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Riverview Regional Medical Center.

Jocelyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mildred Trammell, Ulas Douglas, Ida Burton, Ruben and Emma Loyd, Aaron Brooks, and Helen Zeigler; aunt, Jocelyn Davis; and cousin, Tracilla Douglas. Jocelyn is survived by: her parents, Bryant (Barbara) Douglas and Sabrina (Otis) Jennings, Jr.; grandparents, Regina Loyd, Charles Zeigler, and Otis (Gail) Jennings, Sr.; sisters, Conswayla, Cassie, and Cayonnia Parker, Y’Kesha Cleveland, and Kristina Jennings; brothers, Chris Jennings, Jordan Jennings, and James (Anjalonta), Jamonta, and Justin Parker; aunts, Eula (Percy) Murphy and Teresa (Melvin) Douglas; uncles, Johnny Jones, Wayne (Cathy) Miller, Clarence (Dr. Katrina) Trammell, Megail (Lynette) Douglas, Tracy (Triska) Douglas, Clifton (April) Trammell, Maurice Loyd, and Jackie Jennings; special cousin, Beyonce Loyd; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and very devoted friends.
