Gloria Douglas Obituary

Gloria Douglas was born in Colombus, Ohio as the first child of Corrine Whiteside on December 3, 1954. She was the oldest of seven children and was raised in Ridgeville, Alabama.

Gloria attended and graduated from Etowah High School. She then met the late Broderick Douglas and proceeded to marry him on June 13, 1970. To this union were born three sons:
Kelvin, Wesley, and Jason Douglas.

She was a devoted mother and wife who worked as a housekeeper and maintained her home and family in the best way possible. She later became the best grandmother of many. The way that
she was devoted to her sons quickly became times ten with the grandkids, as long as they didn’t make her get her switch. Gloria loved Auburn football, War Eagle. She loved WWE. You would have to calm her down with all the yelling she would do while watching Monday Night Raw or Friday Night Smackdown. Roman Reigns was her man! And don’t even get us started with her stories. There was no talking, no cartoons, no one could mess with her. She watched in order: All My children, One Life to Live, and her favorite General Hospital. Sonny was her man too (sorry Roman Reigns).

She always kept her faith and was a devoted Christian. She loved the Lord and held Him near and dear to her heart. She never steered away from Him even with all the pain of losing her husband or pain and sickness in life. She received Christ under the leadership of Pastor Rice at Fellowship Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Broderick Douglas; brother, Eric Dozier; Granddaugher, Jazzlin Douglas; Granddson, Javon Douglas; and Grandparents, Berda-Mae
Morris and Sylvester Freeman;

She is survived by her Mother Corrine Whiteside; Children: Kelvin (Jessica) Douglas, Wesley (Penny) Douglas, Jason Douglas, Donna Alldredge ; Grandchildren: Alexis Douglas, Alisha
Douglas, Courtney Douglas, Julian Douglas, Nylah Douglas, Aliyah Lemons, Jayleen Douglas, Jadica Douglas, Jaidyn Douglas, Jaidalyn Douglas ; Siblings: Linda Freeman, Niecey Whiteside,
Bo Whiteside, Brenda (Derrick) Macon, Belinda Whiteside and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and very devoted friends.
