Russell Gerald Patterson was born February 28, 1952 in Jacksonville, Al to the parentage of the late Booker T. Patterson, Sr. and Mary Emma Parker Patterson. At a very early age, he attended church and Sunday school at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.
He attended Eastwood High School and later joined the work force in New Jersey for General Motors as an inspector. Russell later transferred to the plant in Atlanta, Ga where he retired in 2000.
In 2012 he met the love of his life, Alma, and in 2013 they got married.
Russell always loved family gatherings and playing Dominos with his brothers. He also enjoyed watching sports, fishing, and he especially loved bowling.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents Booker T. Patterson, Sr. and Mary Emma Patterson; his brother Booker T. Patterson, Jr. who was killed on April 5, 1969 in Vietnam. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Alma Patterson; children Terry Patterson, Javon Patterson, Kiana Patterson, and Joshua Crawford; two sisters Shirley Coleman and Isabella Winston; four brothers Jerome (Val) Patterson, Lonnie (Belinda) Patterson, Jeffery Patterson, and Anthony Patterson; four grandchildren, one great grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
